I just saw the TODAY SHOW. Of course, Adam and Jason cannot give away any information that will happen in tonight's show. However, when Matt asked the guys if they were happy and would do it all over again, Adam looked a bit happier than Jason! I say Adam won the girl!

I think she sucks and if she was so true to how she felt about being truthful she would not have picked the pretty boy. I think they deserve each other because they are both shallow and there is nothing to either of them. My last thought is for Adam who can have any girl that he could ever want (except for the shallow one, who will never know what she lost) that will love him for him, and not just cause he looks incredible. OK.. I admit I watched the show from the get go. I for some reason even unknown to me I enjoy reality t.v. (Maybe because we are all voyours in some form)

I am extremely disaapointed that Adam did not "get the girl". He has established himself, is sucessful and has his life in order.

I have watched the show from the getgo. I do believe that Melana made the right decision in picking Jason because they had a great connection with each other and one that just wasn't there with Adam other than friendship. I don't care what anyone says, there has to be chemistry in a relationship and if Adam is not right for Melana, he's right for someone else. Just because Jason is gorgeous, doesn't mean he isn't as great of guy as everyone thinks that Adam is.

If Adam is an average joe, sign me up! My heart absolutely stopped when she picked pretty boy and the way she went about telling him - making him and US think she was picking Adam! That was crap! Adam pulled out all the stops for her and he could have given her the world and what does she do - she chooses a 26 year old waiter/ student! I had tears in my eyes for Adam - who wouldn't want a man like him??? She'll regret it!!!

My heart sank when Melena chose Jason! All they seemed to have was physical attraction. He didn't open her eyes to anything new! What was she talking about. It was so obvious that Adam was so much more happy to be around her, and enjoyed her presence a million times more than Jason. Adam, you are going to find the perfect girl and have the perfect relationship, because you are THE PERFECT guy!!! Best wishes.

What a piece of crap TV show. I watched the last episode of it. It was the only one I watched. That tramp tried to act like she was really interested in the dorky average joe guy, but it was obvious it was all just for show and she would pick the best looking guy. What a phony bunch of amateur acting. Shame on NBC for this piece of crap, shame on that average joe idiot for thinking he really had a chance with that hot blonde, and shame on that blonde whore for putting on that phony show and intentionally hurting that guy.

Why is anyone shocked that she picked a guy even prettier than herself. She just proved the sad truth about human nature. Most people given the chance will choose the hottest peice of booty they can get their hands on regardless of true issues of compatibility, integrity and what's best for them. Hopefully she will learn from her tragic mistake when pretty boy cheats on her with an even hotter peice of booty than herself.

I dont know why im here except I really liked the show (until the end). I really thought that this was a true test to what a normal guy could be to a beutiful girl like melana. I really thought adam was the one she would pick. I looked at this as a chance to show that an average guy can win over an attractive women like her. I feel like i have lost in some way because I see myself as average too. It just makes me sad.

If anything you would think that a load of money would compensate for model good looks. I take comfort in two probable scenarios if the bimbo cheerleader and the pretty boy stay together.
1. After 10 or 15 years of living off her like a leach the pretty boy stays pretty while she has a couple of kids gets fat and not so attractive, the pretty boy starts sleeping aroung and providing free entertainment for all their neighbors in the burbs.
2. After 10 or 15 years her lazy good for nothing once pretty boy husband has sunk into a life of unemployed alcoholism and has sprouted quite a beer gut. While he's passed out on the couch after downing a bottle of cheap wiskey, she is hanging out the trailer door in a pair of stained sweat pants and with a cigarette hanging out her mouth, she calls for her 5 koolaid mustached kids in for their diner of macaroni and spam.

I just cant stand to see that bitch and Jason on any other show. Adam was the coolest what a shitty end.

Extremely disappointed to say the least that Melana would have allowed passion to rule over character. Doubt she and Jason will stay together long, once they enter the "real world" and she realizes he is trailing far behind her. She did nothing to eradicate the perception that women make stupid decisions about men...

I thought this show would finally prove that nice guys don't always finish last. I guess I was wrong. Jason has no personality, and all Malena said about him was that she is attracted to him. I was so sad for Adam... he is a warm sweet guy with a wonderful heart and I think he is very handsome. So average.. I would say not! And I am sure he has had a continual line of women who would love to get to know him. As most of the posts go to show Adam... I felt for Adam, when Melena chose Jason, what a mistake I give thier relationship two more months when the Jason kid'semster begins and he needs to do homework and stuff and Melena will be back to her cheerleading thing, what a match for them two. I watched the show from the very beginning. I really like the show, but I was really disappointed in the ending. I thought for sure that she would pick Adam over Jason. I think Adam is a real nice person and any girl would be lucky to have him as a boyfriend. The thing that really impressed me was that he was rich and he didn't act like it, he was a down to earth guy with a great personality. I think if the show was reversed and Adam was the guy picking the girl, he would have picked one that was fun, sweet and loving even if she weren't beautiful. I wish Marlena good luck, but I feel in the end that she may be disappointed that she didn't go for the real thing.

My night is ruined... I cried when Melana made her choice. I loved Adam from the beginning. Its good that Melana didn't pick him because now he can be available for me. Anyone like Melana who has been successful in other arenas such as pageants and pro cheerleading definitely choice to be on these types of shows to further her career. This horrible PR is going to be the end of her. Isn't she smarter than that? Trista has milked this whole genre for all it is worth. I can't believe what happened tonite. I am so upset i dont even think i will be able to get any sleep tonite. Ok.. so the twist was that she made it look like she was going to send Jason home.. and then at the last second asked him to fly away with her.
Adam being the wonderful person he is.. accepted her request to go home with such dignity! He bowed down and told her that he respected her decision.
It was soooo sad! I was in tears for Adam! I was heartbroken for him... but ya know.. Wow what a future he has in store for him!

After tonight I believe AJ has hit the bottom... Lets get some gal with real feelings...as for AJ2 change the name to AJ v.s. the non AJ's. If the show states average joe thats what the whole show should have been...from get to end.

I was so PO'd at the end of the show! I just can't believe what something like this teaches others!? The premise of the show was for Average Joe's to date Melana. I became disgusted with the show when they brought in the "hunks", because the original guys had no chance after that point! I wanted to watch until the end in hopes that something different would happen, but I shouldn't have wasted my time. This type of behavior happens every day, and in the end, Melena will try to act as if it wasn't physical appearance...

Alright, I admit I got sucked into this show, and started to root for the underdog. I even started to believe she might pick one of the Average Guys, but for no other reason then she was afraid of how she would look (this is a publicity vehicle for her after all). You have to give her credit for going with her heart. If she would have picked Adam it would have been wrong. The attraction just wasn't there, and if you watch her I think it was killing her that is wasn't. She knew Adam was the better man but she couldn't get passed it. Too bad for her. I can't believe they think people would watch this all over again in Average Joe 2. If they really wanted to get great numbers, they would have a show where Adam was the chooser.

I have never felt more betrayed as a viewer as I have watching the finalie of this show. Congratulations NBC !! You truly are the only winners in this reality show!!So don't stop now when things are really starting to get interesting ! Poll america & Canada (we watched as well) everyone knows that Adam was the better man... better for Melena..? who knows!... but what is on every ones minds right now is, "Will it last?" ... and will Melena regret her decision?

I'm sorry to say I think Melena made the wrong decision. Is she crazy? What girl in her right mind would NOT choose Adam? If she doesn't want him, I'm sure there are plenty of girls like myself who would love to have someone like Adam as a boyfriend and it's not because of the money. He is deep, caring, comfortable in his own skin, trustworthy, funny, and has a lot to give. Not to mention - I actually think he's better looking than Jason (aka Pretty Boy). So, the moral of the story is ... doesn't matter how great the guy is on the inside, shallow women like Melena will still pick just a pretty face.

My bet is that after the lust cools between pretty boy and the blond there will not be anything to build a relationship on. He will soon tire of her and move on to the next pretty girl that sees his face and thinks that is all there is to a person. Grace, I "realistically" think your world must be as empty as melana's head when she chose baby face! Believe it! But rock on Grace!

Somebody brought up an interesting point - what their kids would look like. Now I have to admit that when I was single I did put thought into what my kids would look like with certain guys because that is all I've ever really wanted to be - a mom.

However, the funny part is that my husband is about 80 pounds more than we met, I'm about 30 pounds more with much more hip and butt than ever. If you loooked at us now, you'd never believe we'd produce such stunning children. However, everywhere we go people go on and on about how our kids are absolutely beautiful.

That just goes to show you - my balding overweight husband and my "I'm gonna need a backlight soon" butt - have a fabulous family. Besides, I can exercise, and should my daughter have been born with less than beautiful looks, she could have in the future made the choice to choose plastic surgery. IF SHE WANTED, not that I'm suggesting it.

BUT...as said above Melana will have a hard time it her knight in shining armor spends as much time in front of the mirror, as I'd think he does.

However, to be fair on the flip side, when I met my horribly handsome husband, I was dating the Average Joe that I thought I'd end up marrying. I would have never guessed my husband would've given me the time of day. We fell in love immediately, I dropped the sure thing against my stomachs advice. And guess what...it worked out my husband and I were meant to be together and I've never doubted it since. Of course, as stated above the ironic thing is both of now look like Average Joes.

Tee hee - so I trust it will all work out as meant to be. If Melana's choice is a flop, she'll learn what many didn't learn in front of an audience. Or, as much as I was pissed that she didn't pick Adama. And as much as I live in New York with some fabulous single friend to throw his way, I guess there is a chance that Melana and the other guy will live happily ever after.

A note to somebody who was concerned for himself and other average joes: don't be remember this is television - and if you feel average you'll come across as average. That's was one of Adams best qualities, although he said things to put himself down compared to model looks, he never acted lesser in the rest of the game.

Hang in there everybody, Adam will definitely end up with someone more deserving of him, plus he'll even appreciate her more than Melana because he'd been hurt by her.

I might as well add my two cents. I have been into this show like no other reality show. It was called AVERAGE JOE!!! It was not called The Bachelor or HUNKY JOE!! I am so ashamed that I wasted my time on this show! The only positive thing I can say is that Melena has now ruined any chance of having a fantastic career in Television, bad publicity killed that. I was rooting for Adam since the begining. His sence of humor swept me away. I am super sad that he did not get the girl but... that leaves me a chance I guess. He is the total package and I can not wait to meet someone just like him(or him if he is free) hehehe. I have watched every episode and he has grown on me. Melana lied when she told the viewers that she did not date based on looks.
I was highly disappointed in the show, how can you call it "Average Joe" and then bring in body building models and honestly think she would pay one once of the attention to the average looking guys. Come it was obviouse from the very beginning Zack was the best looking one out of all of them at first impression and she was all over him kissing all over him and talking about how attracted she was to him and yadda, yadda, yadda (til Zach let out his true crude personality, then he became not so attractive) Adam grew on me and I think his personality makes him a very attractive person. Now Melena kissed Adam on their dates and told him what a great kisser and how funny he was, then the minute the models came in every date she had with Adam (which were none til the end)from then on she shyed away from kissing him, and every shoot they showed of her date with Jason they were making out. So she had no intention in picking an "Average Joe"
I think had Zack not made the "Duff" remark then she would have got rid of Adam and kept it bewteen Zack and Jason.
If she was really true to what she said (that she didn't date based on looks) then she would have picked Adam and she should have. I think that picture was a sympathy gift cause she knew she had no intentions in picking him.
What the show should have done was through in another twist at the end after she picked, if she were to pick pretty boy then no trip no nothing, they are made to go there separate way to never see or speak to each other again and she can never see or speak to Adam either, and point out to her that obviouse looks were more important to her. I honestly think this was just a publicty thing for Melena and I hope because of her lies she does not get any I know I wont watch any show that is premiering her or her pretty boy.

Wow, I never once actually watched this show, but as soon as I saw the commercials that they were bringing in the "hunks," I immediately knew the vagina-with-legs would pick one of them. I simply found this site looking to see who won to see if my unfortunate prediction was true, and alas it was. I have to agree with the majority: Vanity was the true winner. Just finished watching the finale of AJ with my daughter. All I can say is, Adam, if you read this, you are everything my daughter has been looking for in a man, and everything I would want for a son-in-law.

I think all of you ahve not seen both sides of this story. First of all Adam is cool as hell, and I wish him nothing but the best for him in life and especially love. This show I am positive gave him more mail then he ever imagined, loading his apartment, and his roomate and him just laughing at and reading it. Well I really did like the show until tonight. Actually I liked it until all the perfect looking people showed up. What exactally was the point they were trying to make with this show? That looks always win out. I think the real shame falls on NBC for deceiving the viewers through the entire finale so our shock would be outweighed by our disappointment in Melena's choice. I believe Adam handled the situation with as much class as humanly possible. That's a pretty awkward and potentially humiliating situation to be in - the ultimate in vulnerability. I never disliked Jason like I did the other "pretty boys" - he was a pretty likeable guy, but c'mon, it just seemed to me Adam would have been a better choice. I think Melena will forever be plagued by people asking her "what were you thinking?," while Adam just became America's favorite bachelor (who also happens to be independently wealthy).

Reality shows have always sucked, but this one looked like it might have something redeeming to it. Guess again! Hellywood never seems to run out of self-congratulatory crap. I can hardly believe they had the gall to pimp their next project, Average Joe 2, at the end of the finale. I have definitely given up on reality shows at this point and maybe even television altogether. I want to vomit just thinking about how the media toys with us over and over, all the while dragging us down into their silicon-enhanced, Abercrombie & Fitch moralizing, pit of narcissistic bile. Neverland Ranch has become the new Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. In the immortal words of a former high priest of secular enlightenment (who has, of course, been defrocked because, "oh, my gosh, that is so 1990s"), "welcome to the jungle, it gets worse here every day...its gonna bring you down".

My husband and I were rooting for the not so average joe- and he NEVER watches these shows. We both agree that Melena is clearly an idiot. Jason- boring and scripted- we kept expecting "the twist" to be that he was actually a paid actor and Melena would get burned for being so shallow. Adam had character- and now he has legions of women everywhere so I guess he's the real winner. And neither my husband or I will watch the next average joe. Average Jane? Now that I would watch. But I'm SURE the men would be just as shallow as Melena.

First off, unhappy about the ending. Adam certainly "deserved" to win the girl. But ultimately that's not what show was about. In her defense, Melana did say she kicked Adam to the curbside because she sensed Adam was having stronger feelings for her than she was for him. This show wasn't about Melana finding someone to settle down with. She's young is just looking for a good time. For her, Jason fits the bill. No attachments. Back to his parents house if need be.

Adam on the other hand was ready to really commit to this girl and you could tell she didn't want that pressure.

In the end, the show did it's job entertaining and most everyone got what they wanted.

Melena will never live down her decision. She'll be assaulted on every street corner by strangers asking her why she didn't pick Adam. A great follow up reality show would be NBC following around Melena, Adam, and Zack for the next few months. I left out Jason because he really isn't all that interesting.

My husband and I watch this show together. We both agreed Adam has what it takes to have a succesful marriage, children (if desired). Jason is still in the starting gates on what to do with his life. It may not feel like it at the time or even for a while after, but Adam does deserve someone who is in it for the long haul.

I watched the show and was very dissappointed at the end..I did not like it when the hunks came in after these 3 AJ's went through all the eleminations. I will not watch AJ2 which should be "Below AJ's versus Hunks", looking at the promo. Adam was with her from the beginning to the end and all she said afterwards was Adams feelings was on different level..Yes,,a higher level,,the love level..the level you wanted and threw away on vanity and looks..I have to admit that she had me fooled..She did try and found out that the AJ had great personalities until the last show. As for the show....what a joke. The second one is even worse. Why call a show "Average Joe" when there are going to be these "Above Average Joes"? Kinda looks like "The Bachlorette Model who picks the Above Average Joes over the Average Joe". But then, that is reality, isn't it?!

wow, i want to beat that girl down for not choosing adam. and he was STILL a gentleman after she rejected him. you could see how badly he wasted to cry on the bus when she kissed jason RIGHT IN FRONT OF ADAM, what a total bitch.

The way I look at it - is Adam is the lucky one - I actually think Melana and what's his face - jason had better chemistry. However, I think Adam will get a chance to really meet someone that is into him.

Come on people...get real! I don't suppose that anyone has thought of the fact that a good part of the reason that these guys fell so quickly for Melana has anything to do with HER looks? All these guys, suddenly confronted with a girl that would normally be "out of reach". Would they have felt the same way if she had been ordinary or even FAT, like "cousin Danielle"? I think it is hypocritical to think that's okay while lambasting Melana for her choice.

When you have all these guys, who don't really know you, fall hard for you because you are beautiful, you must feel a lot of pressure and wonder if it is just your looks that really is attracting them. Chosing a guy who you know could date girls maybe even prettier than you takes some of the pressure off and might make you feel more sure that he likes you for you. Now if you really knew these guys, and they truly knew you, then it might be a different story.

So, I know we are disappointed...Adam seems like a great guy, and everyone roots for the underdog. However, it was clear, even edited the way it was, that Melana had more of a romantic connection with Jason. Would you have wanted her to pick Adam just because he is rich and successful, despite her feelings? Plenty of beautiful girls are willing to do that, but I think THAT is shallow.

I have watched the show since it started. I really think that she had true feelings for both men. I was disappointed though in her decision. BUT!!!! No matter what her decision would have been people would have been arguing these two things:
1.) If she had chosen Adam, she would have only been picking him for his money and the lifestyle that he has.
2.) And as most say she only picked Jason because he looked better.
Both men were very sweet and sincere with her. But her connection with Jason was obviously much stronger. Like on last night s show she went to visit him at his home. He lived the way that she was acustom to, grew up in the same type of neighborhood and town. Adam on the other hand lives a bit more elaborate lifestyle. I think either man would have been great for her. You could tell that even though Jason was good looking he had his own insecurities!!

Malena may have taken Human Relations in college, but its clear to me that she followed her libido vs. her heart and has little clue what it truly takes to make a solid, long lasting relationship. Sooner or later lust runs out, and somebody HAS to pay the bills. Given that Malena works part time and Jason doesn't work at all, guess Jason's parents will have the honor of picking up that tab as well.

I'm still pondering who gets to foot the bill for all those plane tix from SoCal to MO during football season so Malena can do her Chiefs Trivia segments. The LA/Orange County area doesn't have a football team. Then again, perhaps the San Diego Chargers are in the market for a cheerleading couple (and it would give Jason some income...*lol*).

This is the first reality show that I have every watched. It had a great twist compared to the other shows. Then the good looking guys showed up and I new she would pick them. I watched the show until the last 15 minutes before she chose and my wife got home from school. I chose to turn of the reality show and take care of my reality.

Do any of your really think that these "Reality" shows have any reality in them. They are there for one reason. That is to make the TV stations money.

All this reminds me that I need to take care of what is real in my life. To enjoy the "average" person that I am, and charish the "average" wife that I have, who by my standards is so far above average that these "reality" girs.

I work at Adam's bar and live in the same neighborhood...always see him around- always a nice guy...i felt like i had the opportunity to get to know him more watching the show and was pulling for him every step of the way. Milena kept making all these excuses for Jason...she likes the fact that he lives at home??? Common now??? He's not THAT cute!! I saw him at the finale party last night at Slate and Adam blows him away!!!
The fact that she picked Jason, confirms yet again…that pretty people choose other pretty people even when the less pretty people have more to offer them… it just makes me sad to see it all being confirmed on national television. I was so mad last night to Adam have to go home. At the beginning of the show I thought "Ok, maybe she really is sincere." NOT!! Milena is so superficial. The beating Jason is taking on this post is so unfair. Just because he's good looking doesn't mean he is a "cheat." And just because Melana is attracted to him doesn't mean she is a "bitch." After watching the show and being truly hurt by the ending. I come to realize that it was Reality. I consider myself an Average Joe and have done well in life. My friends all tell me how great a catch I would be for some lucky lady, and I like Adam have a pretty good sense of humor. But in the end just like the show its all about looks. I do think the show did do some good for Adam and maybe the rest of us "Joes" in the world and that was to give us hope.

Guys are also shallow, so an Average Jane show would be a complete waste of time. The thing is that most of those guys on this show, and the guys on the next show, have an opportunity that in REALITY they would be so afraid of and that is getting that close to a beautiful looking woman. We all are guilty of wanting an attractive looking person as a love interest, we all dream of it. But as I have found out and that the viewers of this show has also understood that there is so much more to matters of the heart than physical attraction. I and the teaming millions will not be sucked into watching AJ2, I do hope that it has the same or worse success that Joe Millionaire 2 did.

If she can meet Adam's roommate, go to Adam's job and meet his co-workers, go to Adam's bar, hear Adam's poems, accept Adam's gifts, look into Adam's eyes and see how bad he wanted her and see how perfectly sweet and romantic Adam is-- and STILL pick the pretty (probably gay) youngster living at home then she and Jason are meant to be! I don't understand why people are so shocked that Melana picked Jason. Melana tried to let Adam know that she had strong feelings for Jason in the limo. But all Adam could think about was "making out" with her. She was being honest with him and he couldn't handle it. So on the next date she kept her mouth shut and gave him and the viewing public what they wanted. Given the circumstances, I think Melana was as fair an honest as she could be.

At first I was ticked off, but then I realized that it was a utter waste of time. My wife called it much earlier than I, she thought Melena was shallow from day one when she was mooning for Zach. My wife told me she would pick Jason after watching the first five minutes of last night's program. I didn't agree, for some reason I held hope that Melena was not like the countless MTV generation who would prefer a face to personality. Finally I had a real beef with the whole premise. If its truly going to be about the "average Joe", then why bring on the studs. The producers blew it, and NBC is the real loser. I think a number of people like me will ignore the next installment of average Joe.

In a way, I'm glad for Adam that he didn't end up with Melena. He was looking for someone/thing REAL. Melena might be beautiful, but she wasn't real. She will be finished with Jason in 6½ weeks and onto her next pretty boy.

What a man! After having his heart stomped on Adam was big enough to put a smile on his face and wish Jason and Malena well. While he may not have been the BEST match for Melena, I think he was much better than Jason. If you think back to when Malena and Jason were together think about how many times she called him "pretty" or "beautiful". Melana has made a HUGE mistake. My husband 30 years watched this show with me--a rarity for either of us. We wanted to see an "average joe" have his chance. Sadly it didn't happen on the show. In real life, it happened to us amost 33 years ago. I was lucky enough to always have a date back then. However, there was this strange geek of a guy with a slide rule hanging off his baggy unbelted pants and a pocket protector full of flair pens who saw me and wouldn't let me alone. This senior seemed to follow me everywhere. Eventually, I broke down and agreed to a date. The rest is history. We went to college and grad together, married, , have 2 grown sons (a teacher, and an eye doc). Oh, by the way, girls, I am FINALLY getting comments from others saying my husband is "cute" and "hot". Funny, 3 decades have aged most men his age, creating baldness and beer bellies, but my guy just looks better all the time! An added bonus: he never watches SPORTS. He's also been a great provider as both a nuclear engineer and a computer tech supervisor. We can both see Adam's great husband potential and wish him the BEST (and that's not Melana)!

I heard Melena say several times about how attracted she was to "pretty boy". He seems like a nice enough guy, but he just didn't have it like Adam does. Lives with his parents, a waiter--come on! His wonderful, sweet heart comes shining through in everything he says, everything he does. His heart is so true and he deserves someone that can see that in him. well, im not gonna criticize the show. I felt bad for Adam, and if it came down to it, i would much rather be like him than the pretty boy. I guess i'm an average joe myself but i think Adam just had a much better grasp on life. Jason was a nice guy, and I honestly feel bad for him. That's because he is getting this negative P.R. for something that's not his fault. It was edited this way. But when it all boils down to it, i really think the Average Joe did win. Adam was far from average and that's a testiment to him. Jason is 26 and and living at home and probably has no idea what he wants out of life other than a "hot chic". First of all, I think the entire show was mean spirited and planned out by some NBC guy looking to make fun of the less attractive bunch. Second, Adam is incredible and it's her loss if Melana was too caught up with the pretty boy, who was only attractive in a "I am a Ken doll" sort of way. OK! I can tell you that I am no an average joe! However I was pulling for Adam Like hell!!! What made Adam real was that he made his fame and fortue the old fashion way.......he earned it. This resulted in his true humbleness. If I had known that Melaina had previously been on "Meet the parents" I would have been clued in on the fact that she wants to get famous/rich the easy way.....being an actor/celeb!!! Come on folks, she was in a no win situation. Although she obviously wanted to be on a reality dating show she certainly wasn't expecting to be forced into this situation. Then at in the end if she had picked Adam then everyone would be saying it was the money, since she picked Jason she has to hear how it was the pretty boy looks. Frankly, I think it took guts for Melana to choose Jason. The "right" choice from a public relations standpoint would have been to pick Adam. In fact, I predicted she would do so for that very reason, even though she had obviously had more chemistry with Jason. Yes, I know that doesn't last, but who thinks these couples are going to end up together for the long haul anyway? Most don't. She would have been criticized either way: a gold digger if she chose Adam and shallow if she chose Jason. I actually grew to like and admire Melana over the course of this program. Yes, she's beautiful, but she seems also to be intelligent, well educated, well-spoken and generally kind. While we all criticize her for not looking past Adam's exterior (not bad but not as good looking as Jason) to his beautiful interior, let's not forget he had some disparaging remarks about the "fat cousin." Not as offensive as Zack's comments but he did talk about how he didn't think he could kiss her. So, he's guilty of the same thing everyone is roasting Melana for--wanting the goodlooking one. I just wanted to say Adam is so hot. I don't blame Melana for picking Jason; I completely suspected it. But, just my personal opinion, nothing against her decision, I think everyone should remember that looks do fade, and if that's all you're in it for, what's left after that? Melana showed her true colors. Everything that came out of her mouth was what a beauty pageant contestant would say. I expected her to say that she chose Jason because it would bring world peace. Adam made her laugh but Jason made her hot. Hi, I just wanted to say that I think that Adam is the sweetest most honest man I have ever seen. Not to mention modest. Any woman would be lucky to end up with you. I had never watched Average Joe until the season finale. I wanted to see if some pretty girl would actually pick an "average joe" over some "hot" guy. After the show was over, I couldn't believe how naive I was in thinking that she would pick the guy with the best potential for a long relationship over the "hot" guy. I'm sure that Malena, or whatever her name is, decided that she could "do better" that Adam. Adam seemed really cool, but he just wasn't "good looking enough." Most extremely attractive girls won't go for guys that aren't totally "hot", because people always tell the girls they can "do better." I won't watch the Average Joe 2. Everybody knows how it's going to end. The attractive girl is going to choose an attractive guy. Why do they even call it "Average Joe" when an average joe doesn't even win? This has got to be the dumbest dating show they have come up with so far. I don't even want to know how much worse they are goin to get.

I hope the network is reading these! They actually don't care if we hate it or not as long as we continue to watch their staged "reality" shows. I will not watch another reality show because I believe they are planned. I will not watch AJ2. They are all fake.

Adam is better off without her! She isn't good enough. He deserves a REAL woman because he is a REAL man! The fake girl got the fake boy!!

Ok, since you all made it to the bottom of the page, here is my view... Adam is a true gentleman in defeat. He is one class act. Hopefully all the attention he is getting will help his self esteem... No one wants to have to bolster someone up if they call themselves a loser. He is obviously not one, but needs to realize it...

On the other hand, how average were these guys... There were a few that I would consider average, but more that I consider below average, at least in looks. And AJ2 looks even worse. Comeon NBC, average is not models and it's not losers...

That said, I would date any of the guys on AJ because I am equal opportunity.

Makes you wonder what would happen if they did an average Jane show... God forbid there should be any fat girls!

After watching Jay Leno Tues. night I feel Jason got the bad deal. He seems nice while Melana seems very shallow. She is a fake. She even said they were working on his eyebrows! I guess he wasn't perfect enough!

Yes, I saw that Jay Leno show and I saw them on Ellen today. Jason doesn't say much, he seems kind of shy.

A lot of you guys are forgetting tha Adam was no angel, he made rude remarks about Danielle, and even about Marlena when he could not have his way, he acts like a spoilt child. He tried to up the ante by shoving his wealth in her face. I for one am happy that she went with her heart, if Jason makes her happy then let her be happy. Adam looks like a ape, and he cant speak properly, I do not care much for his expressions of love to marlena because for all we know he was pretending. I am certain that he has had gorgeous women in his life, but he finally met one who could not be swayed by his charm or money.
So what if Jason lives at home with his parents, Marlena does the same, they have a lot in common. Leave her alone

I am an ol gal and I loved the show..I do not mind the choices I made and I had choice, you cant go with someone who you dont Love. that would be the desaster. Money is not the answer to happiness. if you are a pretty young person you are a pretty old person, especially if you are happy. way too much kissing everyone.

Melana is so dumb. Her picking Jason (only because of his looks) proves how shallow she is.

I agree she is shallow. But not not from who she choose but the way she acts. You know if it was the other way around; good looking man choosing between a pretty woman or an average one. He would choose the pretty one. I think most people end up with someone that is as pretty (or average) as they are!

I think a lot of you are forgetting that this was a TV show.

Malena wasn't really on this program to find "true love". Although that was the premise of the show, the show just wants you to get hooked on the show, and the search for true love is just a very compelling premise.

Malena just wanted some media exposure and this show was perfect for her. Now all of America knows she's pretty and she's sweet and that she can act a little. She'll probably have a few guest spots on ER or the West Wing to show for her troubles or maybe a minor role in the next Rob Schneider movie. I doubt that at this point in her life she would want to settle down with a guy. She probably wants the freedom to pursue her career, which she probably thinks has "unlimited" potential. Pretty, ambitous women in their 20's think the universe is full of choices and from their vantage point, it is.

It's just a TV show. Reality's got nothing to do with it.

While the credits were rolling at the end of the show, there was this man who said something along the lines of: "We can tell you that Melena and Jason seperated on their way to wherever they were going and Adam is now in a new relationship."
I'm quite sure I heard right, so this whole thing is bullshit. All reality tv shows are bullshit.
It followed by a disclaimer which they only showed for one second, so I didn't have enough time to read, but they did A LOT of editing.
Don't waste your time watching AJ2. Just watch the last episode for the outcome.

Oh so shallow melena , by the way she and jason did break up on the way to their destination , what a waste of time television show that was. we all knew that melena was a sucker for good looks . Lets face it if those good looking bimbo guys hadn't come on the show , i believe melena would have chosen zack , why , because he was the best looking out of the guys , but hey it just proves how shallow melena really is . She played the television camera's into thinking she was really interested in Adam but that was just a side liner so we thought hey she is a nice girl . This show just echoes the real world... which is, largely, a big pile of crap. People in this country are pathetically shallow. Nice guys finish last...

Only 2 episodes have been shown in Oz so far but i know who wins now and it was pretty predictable.
So much for looks being unimportant , giving them all a chance and inner beauty being the most important thing.
The 3 big guys,the 2 weedy guys with glasses and thinning hair and the guy Melena didn't listen to when he talked ,all went on the second night.
Obviously only dated them cos she knew she was not going to pick them.

We are like so behind in oz, it sux. Tomorow they show the finale of season1 n i already know who wins. i don't blame her for choosing jason. His hot, mysterious n laid back n I know alot of girls complaining here would do the exact same thing as melana. Anywayz, i don't really care coz alex was the hot one. His sweet n sensitive n modest. I'd totally go for him!

I personally could not believe that Melena picked Jason it was the sort of show that sucked you in and then wham she shows her true colours after all she said about Adam. She only picked Jason because he made her look good. I would love to see some more comments from the people down under because the finale only aired here tonight and all our family and friends will not be watching the next one and we will be bagging this one to everyone we know all over oz. Adam you are the sweetest guy and you were very gracious in you exit. Melena you are shallow wake up

I must be the only person on earth who thought Melana made the right choice! Could it be the Aussie mentality?? Perhaps so, but after reading sooo many negative comments about her choice of a guy who was still living at home, versus a rich successful dude with great pad and loads of money...did many stop to contemplate that had she chosen Adam (money) over Jason, she would have been castigated for choosing money over emotions. We have a saying oft used here...water finds it's own level!!! She chose who she chose and lets leave it at that.

Im from Australia too and the last episode of average joe was aired tonight...unforunately i couldnt wait and found out last week who won so all week ive been angry at the stupid idiot milena (just like u guys were months ago or whenever the first series was aired...)

anyway if she chose adam she wouldn't have been in it for the money because we all know that the money wasnt a big part of adam's life and EVERYONE saw past it!!!

Instead of prejuding adam against jason by material things and apperance i believe his personality was the greatest, his qualities as a person outweight jason's by FAR. Jason may be a 'babe'but hes also BORING in my opinion, i think their physical attraction will ware n tear, in light of Melenas heart, i believe she was blinded by the phsysical infactuations when the 'first crush' fever hits.

Yeah it's only a show, but it's made me realise (in Melenas stupidity) that true happiness can only be found in the people that make your heart smile not just your eyes.

I watched the finale last night. WHAT A JIP!
Adam, definitely has WAY more to offer her. However, sometimes he came across as desparate. I think this was unfortunately due to the fact that she was in control. I cannot believe how much of a gentleman he was in the end. That must hurt her after Jason and Smelina broke up. She thinks with her unit between her legs, and proved it when they were staying at that lodge by shagging him that night.

Adam definitely deserves better and will move onto bigger and better things. Jason on the other hand is a boy. Toy Boy is the operative word. Men & boys are two different entities and looks like she didnt want a real man!

Hey all, another pissed off Aussie, i have very rarely been so emotional about of all things a TV show - to the point where i was unable to have a good night of slumber. It was a total JIP!!!

I agree - I can't believe that she led poor Adam on as much as she did dropping comments like "I think i'm going to move to NY" - the comment about "How she totally hadn't thought of Jason" the entire last day - being an average Joe myself, guys look for hints like that and i don't think it was fair of her to lead him on.

He seems like a stand up bloke, overall nice guy - i'm sure that he will find a really nice woman. I'm also pissed at the way that she smiled at him right the way to the end, even when she told him that he wasn't to go on the plane.

Now that would have been a good chance for him to go ape shit on her - but he stood true right to the end and it was testiment of the sort of bloke he is - to be able to take that shit on the chin makes him look even better to the general public.

As someone else has said, not wanting to be materialistic in any way - but she picked a pretty boy, who lives with mummy and daddy who cook for him and look after him who is probably a student of modelology at some third string university or college.

She picked the boy rather than the man - so much for all the tears she shed over the romantic nice things that Adam did for her - what a moo moo - I bet that Gillette sales on razor blades has gone up 2 fold since the show finale aired and every average Joe out there has realised that it doesn't matter how hard working, what a good person you are and family minded and general good bloke, you still get judged on your appearance.

I can't believe i'm a hetro, married guy, writing this shit - but it is a testiment to the fact that NBC and their cloke and dagger style pissed me off.

i think that adam was a doll from the beginning. he is like a big teddy bear. i can relate to him. he seems very sincere and sweet. i wished i had written sooner because i think that he is much better than that jason guy ever was.
