I miss you
For obvious reasons this is my new favorite song. I heard it for the first time when I was sitting in the hotel bar of the Trumbull Marriott on Cinco de Mayo. There was a DJ there, although Pat and I were the only ones in the hotel bar, which was kind of pathetic. The song played and I didn't recognize it as Blink because it was very Emo and a lot like something that would be played by the Postal Service whose music I love.
What grabbed me about the song at first, aside from the sound, was the cool reference to The Nightmare Before Christmas. TNBC was the movie I took Tara on our first date.
After it was over I approached the DJ and asked him who it was and was pleasantly surprised. I am a decently big fan of Blink, and I have this CD, but didn't realize it was on there.
Blink 182 - I Miss You
Hello there, the angel from my nightmare
the shadow in the background of the morgue
the unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley
we can live like Jack and Sally if we want
where you can always find me
we'll have Halloween on Christmas
and in the night we'll wish this never ends
we'll wish this never ends
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
Where are you and I'm so sorry
I cannot sleep, I cannot dream tonight
I need somebody and always
this sick strange darkness
comes creeping on so haunting every time
and as I stared I counted
webs from all the spiders
catching things and eating their insides
like indecision to call you
and hear your voice of treason
will you come home and stop this pain tonight
stop this pain tonight
Don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
Don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
Don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
don't waste your time on me you're already
the voice inside my head (I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
(I miss you, miss you)
