Hiking at Red Rocks
This weekend we decided to extend our new found enjoyment of going on walks and such to a little light hiking. We found a park nearby that offered some short hiking and views of Shelbune Bay and Lake Champlain.
I had heard about Red Rocks Park from a friend of mine who recently graduated from St. Mike's this past year, and he is an avid outdoorsman so I knew it would be a good spot.
Tara wasn't wearing the right shoes for hiking on the natural paths, so we stuck to the maintained paths, which wind through the majority of the park.
Here is a shot of Shelburne Bay. You can see that although the ice is melting, there is still a lot of it out in the center of the water.
Tara and Trevor ventured into the water for a little splashing around. It didn't go in (don't know why) but it looked like fun.
This weekend we are going to head back and spend some time exploring more of the natural paths and heading out to try to catch a glimpse of Lake Champlain.
