Moody Sky
It's windy on Isle La Motte, and clouds are constantly drifting over the island toward mainland Vermont. We see a lot of rainclouds overhead, but they don't seem to let loose until they reach the mountains to the east. We just get a spectacular show and a smattering of drops.

Welcome to ILM!
No, I'm not a (full time) resident, but my family has a place over on the east shore that they use all summer, and I get to visit when work isn't keeping me tied down in RI. By the looks of it, your new house just south of the marsh.
I subscribe to Google news alerts for ILM, and your blog popped up as a news item! Normally it's just lots of repeat stories about the Goodsell Reef.
I take it you work down in Burlington? I've always wondered what the full time residents of the islands - especially the northern communities - do for work.
Ah well - good luck with the renovations, and I'll beep the next time I drive by (next summer for certain).

It's great to hear from someone else on ILM!
We're not full-time residents yet either -- the house & farm we purchased needs major renovations to bring it into the 21st century.
We plan to move in over the spring and I'll work in Burlington, while my husband Dave continues to work out of our home for a Boston-based biotech company. It's a longer commute than I have now, but shorter than when we lived in Boston and I had to navigate the traffic snarls daily.
You should certainly give a wave when you pass by next summer or stop by and say hello. Not too many of us there on the island to begin with!
