Snakes on a farm!
Yesterday we made our weekly pilgrimage to the house to check in on the overall progress and just chill out for a little while. While we were stomping around the property (a nice little walk in and of itself) we came across this little friend, a snake in the grass if you will. The weather outside is finally starting to turn warmer and the T's and I are itching to get back outside to work on the property.

That said, it's still only hitting the upper 30's on most days and tonight we are supposed to be hit with a Noreaster leaving us with somewhere in the range of 8-12 inches of snow. Hopefully it's quite a bit less than that but we live in Vermont, so...whatever.
Lots of progress on the house this week. There are some pictures on the Flickr site, and Tara will be posting some throughout the week. Some of the items that are now done.
- Second floor completely insulated and drywall hung
- All rough plumbing completed
- Closets in bathroom, and all three bedrooms built
- Attic (almost done!)
- French doors hung in kitchen
- First floor (kitchen and living room) almost completely insulated
- New concrete steps to basement poured
- New foundation wall started
- Deck posts poured
I am sure that I am forgetting some other items, but that's probably enough for now. I have been working at home on stripping the posts for our original staircase. I should be done with the posts this week and then next weekend Tara and I will strip the old stain and dirt off of the steps themselves, as well as work on sanding the outside slats on the inner wall of the porch so that it can be painted.

Hi Dave, it's been a few years since we worked together at B&N (seems almost like ages ago!)... I'd been tracking you and the family's updates once in a while. Glad to see things are picking up.
