Almost there...
Over the last few weeks things have really been moving along for the house. As of today, the cabinets are in, the countertops have arrived and the trim is in for most of the rooms. Yesterday, I finished removing the stain from the steps and started working on the large picture window in the living room.
Next week I should be able to sand everything, and possibly paint (first coat) as well as work on the window some more. We are waiting for the flooring to be installed and then everything should wrap up pretty quickly. We are hoping that we can start moving in during the late part of June and start staying over on the weekends within 3 weeks.
Our favorite part of the house these days is clearly the deck. This week the railings were installed and by next weekend, the steps will be in. Check it out!

Here is a shot of the new kitchen. The flooring is due to come in another few weeks, but you can see that it is painted, trimmed and the French doors are in as well. The deck is being built this week (if it stops raining for more than 10 seconds) and the rest of the house is also finished being painted.
Just a few more weeks and then we are in!

A false sense of pudding
Holy cow. No posts in May? We must hate this blog...or we are really busy.
So what's been going on?
- House
- Baseball
- Scouts
- House
- Work
- House
- Work, work work.
We should be moving into the house in a few more weeks. The cabinets are in, half of the interior is painted and the outside still looks like a set from the Dukes of Hazard.
Tonight after a great dinner or turkey burgers, cucumber salad and home made cole slaw Tara and I tried the Jell-O fat Free pudding cups. Both of us ate one bite, screwed our mouths up into what must have looked comical because we both cracked up. Tara was the first to speak.
Tara - "This isn't pudding. This is like if pudding wrote you a postcard that said "Hi, I am over here!" and then you ate the postcard."
Great dinner. Lots going on. Hopefully we will post more this month, but don't count on it. Stuff is really crazy here and with the house taking up all of our weekends, we spend about 10 minutes a day not working on something.
