Yes, I have listed a whole bunch of places we don't like for various reasons. However, we do like lots of places, much to our surprise too. We like these places because employees help us and are nice, products are really good, lots of variety, and no one gives you a hard time for "just looking." Well, here they are:
1. Wegmans
2. Target
3. Hot Topic
4. Fleet Bank
5. Sears
6. Lowe's
7. Barnes & Noble
8. Starbucks
9. Beary Unique Quilt Shop
10. Sam's Club
11. Comp USA
12. Hershey Park
13. Frehold Music Center
Here is a list of places Bryan and I have encountered bad service, overcharges, and various other injustices:
1. Sofa Showcase
2. Freehold Ford
3. Home Depot
4. Anywhere in Asbury Park
5. Pathmark
6. Guitar Center
7. Best Buy
8. Sovereign Bank
9. Blockbuster
10. General Electric
11. South River Pub
Sofa Showcase delivered our bedroom set wrong three times and did not assemble it correctly, in addition to having ridiculously bad attitudes about helping us as customers whom are always right. Freehold Ford said they replaced a whole bunch of stuff in our car for a lot of money and it broke down twice after that. They also think it is correct that a four cylinder car needed six spark plugs changed. Home Depot...we know more about their store than they do and Dad has some issues that which we agree. Asbury Park--see Slayer entry. Pathmark, we should say just the one by us, we have noticed that everytime we see produce that is sub-standard, scary and poor selection. Mold anyone? Guitar Center charged me twice for a 1000$ purchase and argued with me that it was my fault for not having enough credit and that the credit card was cancelled, but not by me!?!? We like Best Buy and do patronize because they have a good selection of both dvd and cd. The reason it made our list is because usually you have to be on fire to get some help. I recall my poor husband having to ask if he looked as if he couldn't afford a television. Sovereign Bank lost tons of money for me, when I did catch it, I was told that they were accidentally someone else's transactions. And one day I could not use my bank account, this was because it was closed out unbeknownst to me. They meant to close out my relative's account and gave her my life savings. Blockbuster is famous for its phantom charges and the movie that was never returned so our account is on hold, but we never rented it. Everyone knows someone who had a problem at Blockbuster. We patronize them, darn those movie rental monopolies. But Mom in law tore her card into tiny pieces. I had an iron made by General Electric and it one day sparked and went up in black smoke. I tried to talk with the company about this as a safety problem and long-story-short, there was nothing they could do cause even though it could have caused a fire, I did use it for five months. And last but not least, South River Pub is a place our friends took us and it was pretty gross, we especially did not like the commedian's mouth.
Yeah, Bryan and I have issues, but it also means we have taste. If you would like to comment and tell us whether you think we are cranky complainers or people with standards, feel free. Dave told us if we want to complain about issues, this is where to do it. Tomorrow, all the happy places we like to go. I know you are waiting in great suspense.
Hi, I was so busy I had no chance to write. Now I don't have to spend all day writing resumes, mailing, faxing, making appointments, or internet searching....I will be at work. I have a new job!!!! I am totally excited because I wanted to work here since college. I will be extracting fragrances and learning Gas Chromatography analysis. And possibly a bit of Mass Spectrometry. At International Flavors and Fragrances, or IFF. I went to a staffing agency and in two days I was hired. I am technically a Kelly Scientific employee and if things work out the way I wish, I could be permanent. But not to count chickens before they are chickens, the position is temporary and the hope of permanent may be cloudy. Let's see if I like it and they like me. I jumped at the opportunity because, yes it is temp, but IFF is the world's largest flavor and fragrance company in the world and on a resume that is super. The experience as an analyst is outstanding. And the department for which I will be working smells really really good. So I am jumping up and down still and I hope to do well here.
Ummm...we got tickets for Slayer and were looking forward to seeing them for a really long time. Finally, that day came! We drove around in a really nasty neighborhood for forty minutes to find a place to park. When we found a parking lot, some guy was waving us in with a flashlight--right into the curb and drain. Our front tire burst and Bryan had to change the tire in the dark. The guy said it cost three dollars to park next to his halfway house. So we paid and went to the show. Standing in line, a whole bunch of drunk people were busy bumping into us and not smelling good. It was pretty crowded, as expected, cause Slayer is awesome! We found somewhere to stand and the second opening band was good, but the sound quality was not. We missed the first opening band, on account of changing a tire in a seedy neighborhood in a very dark halfway house parking lot. I was scared of getting knocked out because mosh pits were breaking out sporatically and then dying off. You know, those ones that start on the side cause they don't want to go near the real ones. We saw someone we knew in high school and he said he got kicked in the eye by a guy doing a handstand. Very nice. Then, Bryan and I decided to go to the section of the hall that was over twenty-one and had seats. One of the benefits of being old is that you could get good seats at the Slayer show. We sat in the front and we finally spotted the friends that we were trying to meet. Then the lights went off, so we could not see them anymore. And the moment we have been waiting for...Slayer was great, they played for an hour and a half. We had the best view and the sound and the band were optimum. And really cool too. After Slayer left the stage, we decided that it would be best to leave before to encore and beat the traffic. When we got to the car, lots of bad words were in our minds but none surfaced--the intellegent guy who waved us into the parking lot curb had directed the cars to park us in!!! What kind of rational person would sandwich a car when there was plenty of room left over in the lot??? We waited, trying to think of reasons of why we should not wake up the halfway house guy. Then someone who was parked diagonally to us showed up and we left. To top off the night, our neighbor, who shall remain nameless, was parked in our assigned space. Well, Slayer was really cool to see, but I don't think that all the glory we had to go through was something we ever want to see again. Oh, and I didn't get a t-shirt.
The fact of the matter is, we have not been keeping up with our web page. Where have we been? Let us see. First, I am trying to find a new job and that means web searches, resumes, and waiting patiently by the phone for someone to please hire me. Also, I have been putting together my dollhouse, which I may add, is going quite nicely. Almost done. We have purchased a digital camera from office max on sale and unfortunately, it does not work. We have been trying very hard to get it to work and I think the customer service people are functioning less than the camera. Bryan has began going to college. I am so proud of him. I go to school with him and read books in the hallway while he is in class. I enjoy the strange looks I get when asked for directions because I have to say, "sorry I don't really go here." I had a job interview recently and I have received several calls. I just want to choose the right one, that's all for which I hope. We have gone to two shows--Anthrax and Slayer. Anthax was really fun. Lots of people, we have discovered, are stuck the eighties. All the flannel an mullets you can dream of were there. Anthrax is was so good, lots of energy. And Slayer was quite an adventure and it deserves its own entry. Today we had a superbowl party. We do not like football. At all. We just enjoyed having the company and playing Monopoly. I think that we had on the Nicolodeon channel. And finally, our last excuse for not writing anything on our web page is that we forgot our password to movable type and could not add entries. Maybe we should write that down.
